Bay Area Birth Center first opened in August, 2005. Before that, the name of the business was Gentle Care Birth Services , and the office was at the home of Jackie Griggs. The business eventually outgrew Jackie’s home. At that time, Jackie helped only with home birth. A new office was found and remodeled for use as a Birth Center.

The first baby born at the Birth Center was in February, 2006. Since then, lots more have followed. At this time, about half of the clients who come to Bay Area Birth Center have babies born at home and about half at the Birth Center. Jackie and Camellia began working together in 2001.

Bay Area Birth Center is a freestanding birth center run by three midwives (CNM’s and CPM’s).
We help women with home or birth center births.

Classes

• Lamaze Classes - Wednesday Nights 7-9:30 pm - Taught by Dena Rogge
• La Leche League, 3rd Friday of each month, 10:30-11:30 am. All women - pregnant or with babies welcome
• Mom's Group/ Birth Video Showing, 1st Friday each month 12:00- 2:00
